On Hwy 785 north of Fort Macleod, Head-Smashed-In is the largest and best preserved buffalo kill site in North America, and the superb Interpretive Centre portrays life on the prairies over thousands of years. May 15 to Sept 14, daily 9 am -6 pm and Sept 15 - May 14, daily 10 am - 5 pm. Closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Day and Easter Sunday. Summer admission $8.50 adults, $19 fam, $7 sen, $4 child, free under 7. Winter admission $6.50 adults, $15 fam, $5.50 sen, $3 child, free under 7.
